ICSS design and safety classification
Control and safety architecture, input and output counts, network topology, cause and effect development, and classification of instrumented protective functions. We do this work early enough that it still costs a drawing revision rather than a shutdown.

DCS migration and phased upgrades
Replacing distributed control on a producing asset, in phases. Staging, factory acceptance testing, site acceptance testing, cutover planning and commissioning, all scheduled around production rather than against it. Server and station control unit upgrades sit here too.

Safeguarding, emergency shutdown, fire and gas
Emergency shutdown, fire and gas, and safeguarding system upgrades. The majority of our safety system engineers hold certification on the platforms they work on, because a safeguarding system modified by an unqualified hand is worse than none.

Maintenance and lifecycle support
Standing support contracts with call-out cover, spares and obsolescence management, and planned intervention windows. Several of our contracts have run for more than a decade, which means we hold the history of the system as well as the drawings.

Instrumentation, metering and field services
Transmitter and meter installation, retrofit and calibration, loop checks, SCADA link restoration, and flowstation and process modifications. Field crews mobilise to onshore, offshore and refinery sites.

Operator training simulators and competency
Building and upgrading operator training simulators, and running classroom and hands-on training so client teams can operate and maintain the system without us on site. Training covers the hydrocarbon chain, not only the box we installed.
Emerging
Renewable energy, infrastructure and digital operations
Control, instrumentation and integration work for renewable generation and infrastructure projects, and for clients moving operations data into digital platforms. Same engineering discipline, newer assets. This sits alongside the group’s decarbonization and energy transition advisory work.
